A student-directed project saw the establishment of four european honeybee hives on on the farm in 2003.
The bees are beneficial to the farm in that they act as pollinators, and also allow the opportunity
to harvest both honey and beeswax for sale to the public. On top of this, summer workshops are held
to educate us all about bees, with subjects from honey extraction and candle making
to a day in the life of a bee and the importance of bees in food production.
